Prosecutor Serhi Nash said the awakening took place “in and around Sunny’s Bar on Towyn Road in Towyn, Conwy, on May 10 this year. That day, a bar employee complained to police that there were about 50 people who were “in varying degrees of intoxication,” she said.
They refused to leave when asked to do so, the court heard. She added: “When the police arrived, there was a fight outside.
“The defendant was standing on the doorstep of the Tinkers Bar nearby. He was excited as the officers approached him.
“He was shouting and cursing – a lot of people were turning around – and he was clenching his fists at them.” Ms. Nash said defendant Jones was “apparently drunk, his eyes glazed over and smelled strongly of alcohol.”
Jones cursed again at a police dog handler who was there to support the other officers, and Jones was aggressive, the court heard. Children were also present, the prosecutor added.
Jones of Balmoral Grove, Ril, was not in court because his car was damaged. District Judge Rhys Williams fined him £ 120 in his absence. He also has to pay £ 85 and £ 34 extra.
