A second suspect has been identified in the investigation into the murder of Michael Tuhy

A second suspect in the murder of Michael Tuhy has been identified.

The 18-year-old from Oil Street, Liverpool, died after an attack in front of an internet cafe on London Road at around 5.50 pm on Saturday, April 16. The audience confirmed that he died of multiple injuries.

Michael Williams, 24, of Carlake Grove, was arrested and later charged with murder on Wednesday (June 8th). He has been remanded in custody to appear before the Liverpool Magistrates’ Court today.

Anthony Williams, 31, of Hillbrook Drive, Walton, was arrested and charged with murder on May 17. After appearing in Liverpool’s magistrates’ court the same day, he was further detained for appearing in Liverpool’s Royal Courts of Justice on 14 November.

A total of 10 people – including the two accused – have already been arrested on suspicion of killing Michael Tuhi. They are:

  • A 20-year-old man from Kirkby has been released on parole
  • A 14-year-old man from Liverpool has been released on parole
  • A 15-year-old man from Liverpool has been released on parole
  • A 33-year-old man without a permanent address has been released on parole
  • A 14-year-old man from Liverpool has been released on parole
  • A 25-year-old man from Kirkby has been released on parole
  • A 25-year-old man from Kirkby has been released on parole
  • A 19-year-old man from Kirkby has been released on parole

Michael’s family later paid tribute to their “kind, caring and brave” son, while his girlfriend Rihanna Draper said he had made her “the happiest girl alive” in heartbreaking respect. Public tribute was also paid for the future father, many of whom left flowers near the stage.
