Police in Sarnia have arrested and charged two young men after an alarming report was unveiled at the Northern Collegiate on Wednesday.

A detective investigation has identified teenagers who cannot be identified under the Juvenile Criminal Justice Act.

Each of them is accused of mischief and threats.

In the interest of safety, the school was closed on Thursday, with staff and students switching to distance learning.

Police believe this is an isolated incident and there is no constant threat to school staff and students.

The Lambton Kent School Board said classes in the Northern will resume in person on the Monday after PD Day on Friday.

A similar incident was reported at the LCCVI in Petrolia last week, which led to the arrest of a 16-year-old from Plimpton-Wyoming.
