Two people were shot and killed and one wounded Thursday night at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Vestavia Hills, Alabama, the Vestavia Hills Police Department said.
Police reported the 3775 Crosshaven Drive incident around 6:22 p.m.
Captain Shane Ware said at a briefing that a lone suspect entered the church meeting and started firing. Three people were shot and two died. Another person is in hospital, Ware added.
The next briefing will be on Friday morning.
