Okay, yes, we know we’re a little late with the May eShop Selects, but come on, it wasn’t E3 season! However, we are back again to gather the best offers for the month; of course, for the most part it was relatively quiet, but that doesn’t mean there weren’t any diamonds lying in the rough (maybe we were even a little cheeky and put one or two games in a box this month – hey, it was quiet, right ?!).
So let’s break up then! Well, first collect some honorable mentions that didn’t make it into our top three, but it’s still worth a look.

3. OPUS: Echo of Starsong – full edition of flowering (Switch eShop)

In third place is the wonderful title OPUS: Echo of Starsong. We called it “an emotional adventure that is the top of the series so far and easily one of the best games based on Switch stories” in our review, emphasizing the incredible atmosphere of the display and the emotional weight of the story.

2. PAC-MAN MUSEUM + (Switching)

This month he won the silver medal PAC-MAN MUSEUM +, a delightful selection of some of the most iconic editions of the iconic hero over the years. It has a lot to offer, with online rankings and performance missions, and we just liked how solid the emulation was for each game. Some of the foreign content may have been a little missing, but that doesn’t detract from the fact that this compilation includes some of the greatest games of all time.

1. Citizen Sleeper (Switch to eShop)

And first of all this month is Citizen Sleeper, a game that many of our employees unanimously liked. His strong storytelling and writing can be compared to those of the amazing Disco Elysium, and we especially enjoyed the beautiful art style shown along with the great synthesized wave soundtrack. Definitely a must buy if you like strong role-playing games!

How we decide that our eShop chooses the first three: When we get to the end of each month, Nintendo Life staff vote on their favorite titles from a list of games selected by the editorial team. To qualify for this list, these games must have been released as a digital Nintendo Switch eShop title only this particular month and must have been reviewed in Nintendo Life; we select qualifying games based on their review results.
Employees are then asked to vote on three games that they think deserve to sit right at the top of this list; the first choice gets 3 points, the second choice gets 2 points and the third choice gets 1 point. These votes are then added together to create a list of the top three, with the overall winner taking the grand prize for this month.
