Peel police have arrested a man wanted in connection with the murder of a woman found dead at a Brampton residence on Friday.
Shortly before 6 a.m. Friday, officers were called to the address near Aloma Crescent and Evandale Boulevard near Bramalea Road and Steeles Avenue.
The initial call was for concern, but after the scene, police found an elderly woman suffering from obvious signs of trauma. She was pronounced dead on the spot.
Twenty-nine-year-old Alfonso Ritchie of Brampton has been identified as a suspect. Police say he was the woman’s “intimate partner”.
On Sunday, Peel police posted a tweet saying they had arrested Richie and charged him.
The forces say more details will be provided in a news release tomorrow.
