A man has been arrested and charged with a collision with a vehicle near Trochu, Alta, involving two deaths last Friday.
Richard Douglas Bell, 42, of Elnor, Altania, has been charged with two counts of dangerous operation causing death and two counts of violating operation resulting in death, according to a press release from the Three Hills RCMP. Bell is also accused of violating the work of the vehicle and refusing to give a sample.
Bell has been arrested and will appear in Drumheller County Court on June 24, the RCMP said.
At around 10pm on June 17, the Three Hills RCMP was sent to collide on Highway 21 north of Trochu, the statement said.
Two vehicles were traveling north on Highway 21 in Kneehill County when the second rear end of the first, the RCMP said. This caused the first car to cross the road, where it was then hit by an oncoming semi-truck.
