A rabbit survived a journey of more than 30 miles while trapped in a car after being hit by a driver.
Mark Pearson was driving between Pulheli and Bangor in Wales last Tuesday when he heard a loud thud on the outskirts of Nefin.
The 46-year-old man said that after hearing the sound, he checked his rear-view mirror, but could not see anything and continued on his way to work.
Hours later, a colleague told him that a rabbit was stuck in his armor.
Pearson said on his Facebook page that he was afraid he would find “half a rabbit”.
“I was surprised to find that this lucky man went through the bars and was trapped in a closed compartment.
“We really couldn’t figure out how it got there until we found out that the grille was broken, so it hit it, went through it, and the plastic came back into place. I didn’t know whether to call the RAC or the RSPCA. “
Pearson, who is from Pwllheli, said he then went into Operation Bugs mode, removing the grille to try to detach the rabbit.
He said he had to “fight” the rabbit to catch him from behind, but managed to free the animal without injuring it.
“Apart from a little dry nosebleed, it looked unharmed,” he said, releasing the rabbit into a wooded Shangri-La near Menai Park, Bangor.
Pearson added that several people said he should have returned the rabbit to where he hit it, but when he returned to find it, he fled.
