Jaden Ivy, the highest-rated point guard in the draft, did not work for the Kings, who hold the fourth overall pick. This may be a moot point, as the Kings are in love with Iowa striker Keegan Murray, according to Yahoo Sports’ Chris Haynes. The Kings arranged the prospect of having dinner with the stars of the team De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis during his visit. Murray was one of the top scorers in Division I last season with 23.5 PPG along with 8.7 RPG.
Murray can enter the front of Sacramento with Sabonis and Harrison Barnes.
We have more from the Pacific Division:
- The Lakers continued to do their homework, although they did not have the draft, as they worked out six prospects on Monday, tweets Brad Turner from the Los Angeles Times. The group included Gianvante McCoy (Boston University), Keve Aluma (Virginia Tech), Khalifa Diop (Gran Canaria), Jonathan Williams (Buffalo), Malik Osbourne (Florida) and Danko Brankovic (Cibona).
- Choosing the lottery Jonathan Cumming and Moses Moody had the rare experience of playing in the championship team in their first year. Although they did not play major roles in the post-season, the Warriors recruits gained invaluable experience as playing time increased in the following seasons, writes ESPN’s Om Youngmisuk. “I never really worry about whether we will play and not play,” Cuminga said. “While I’m still here, I’m learning, I’m getting better every day. When my moments call, I know I will be ready. … Everyone here [is] it just helps me, a lot more than dudes [other rookies around the league] are wherever they are at the moment. “
- The Warriors are in 28th place, but may not add a rookie, according to Jeremy Wu of Sports Illustrated. The Warriors are looking to swap choices, in part because of their huge salaries, but also because they already have a trio of young players – James Wiseman, Cumming and Moody – battling rotation minutes next season.
