Rob Gronkowski has announced he will retire from the NFL after a stellar career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the New England Patriots.
Gronkowski told the news to sports journalist Jordan Schultz and announced on Instagram that he would leave.

“In college, I was asked to write about a dream job opportunity that I wanted to pursue and where the place would be. Every time I had to write about my future, no matter what, I chose to be a professional footballer. For this task, however, we had to choose the location, “Gronkowski wrote on Instagram.
“So I wrote that I want to play in Tampa for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, for many reasons, sunny weather was number 1. I completely forgot to write this report until 2 years ago, when I had the opportunity to join the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. And let me tell you, the trip to Tampa over the last 2 years has ruined what I originally wrote about in college a long time ago. And for that I want to thank the whole first-class organization Buccaneers for the amazing trip, believing me to come back to play and help build a champion team.
“Now I will return to my retirement home, starting football again with my head held high, knowing that I have given him everything I had, good or bad, every time I went out on the field. The friendships and connections I have made will last forever and I appreciate each of my teammates and coaches for also giving everything they had. From retirement, back to football and winning another championship and now back to retirement, thank you all. Fans of Buccaneers, Krewe, without you guys, none of this is possible, you all wore it every game, thank you for everything you do. Cheers for what’s next, maybe sailing. “

Gronkowski’s agent Drew Rosenhaus has raised the issue of a return to the end of the season in the middle of the season.
“I won’t be surprised if Tom Brady calls him this season to come back and Rob answers. “It’s just my opinion, but I won’t be surprised if Rob returns next season or next,” he told ESPN.
Gronkowski was selected by the second round of the New England Patriots in 2010. In his second season, he topped the NFL with 17 touchdown catches, and his appearance began to change the way NFL teams use secrets.
He will play in 115 games for the Patriots, catching 521 passes for 7861 yards and scoring 79 touchdowns. He will call it leaving after the 2018 season, citing fears of injury.
However, after Tom Brady gave up the Patriots for the Buccaneers before the 2020 season, it was enough for Gronkowski to retire to play in Tampa Bay.
He will help the Buccaneers reach the Super Bowl this year and mark two touchdowns in the game to give Tampa Bay their second title in franchise history. He and Brady have the most touchdowns of all the duets in the postseason with 84.

Last season, Gronkowski played in just 12 games due to injury, and Tampa Bay failed to reach the Super Bowl after winning the division title.

He ended his career with 92 touchdowns and 621 catches for 9,286 yards. His touchdown catches are the third-highest all-time secret, and his receiving yards are the fifth-highest all-time touchdown.
