Nottingham Forest identifies “key transfer targets” as Steve Cooper expects double collection

Nottingham Forest have made Tottenham Hotspur defender Joe Rodden one of his “key targets” this summer as Steve Cooper awaits a meeting with his former player.

Rodden played under the Reds boss during the Swansea City duo’s time. The central defender moved from South Wales to Tottenham in October 2020, but failed to secure a place in the starting lineup in north London.

The 24-year-old has played a total of 10 times in all competitions last season, with only three of those appearances in the Premier League. Therefore, he can continue this summer in search of more time to play.

Rodon is a regular in the Welsh starting line-up with Brennan Johnson and another transfer target at Neco Williams. The three played together as the nation booked its place at this year’s World Cup in an international break that has just passed.

According to Daily Mail Cooper is interested in bringing out the City Defender’s central defender this summer and has identified the player as one of two “key goals” for the summer. Speaking about his international teammate, Gareth Bale sent a message to Tottenham about the lack of playing time.

“Personally, I have a feeling that he should play for Tottenham. I think he showed again and again how good he is, I think that personally, when I was there last year, I felt he deserved to play, “said Bale, as reported футбол.лондон .

“I don’t think he really had the opportunity to play a permanent series of games at Tottenham and I think if he does, he will be fantastic for them.

It is also rumored that Forrest is expecting a move for Morgan Gibbs-White, who also played under Cooper in Swansea, and won the U17 World Cup under the leadership of the Forest boss.

Recent reports suggest that Forrest has “approached” the Wolves on a potential transfer to the England Under-21 national team. It has been linked with the transfer to City Ground since the start of the transfer window.
