OWWINGS MILLS, Maryland – Baltimore Ravens outside midfielder Ceylan Ferguson has died at the age of 26, the team said Wednesday.
The cause of death is not specified.
“We are deeply saddened by the tragic death of Jaylan Ferguson,” the team said in a statement. “He was a kind, respectful young man with a wide smile and a contagious nature. We extend our heartfelt condolences to Jaylan’s family and friends as we mourn the loss of life too soon. “
Ferguson, selected in the third round of the Ravens in 2019, has participated in all of the team’s training sessions this season. In three seasons, Ferguson made a total of 67 fights and 4.5 sacks.
Known as “Sack Daddy” from Louisiana Tech, he holds the FBS record for career layoffs of 45.
