Evacuation orders struck residents of East Bay near Canyon Fire

Some East Bay residents have been ordered to evacuate on Thursday due to a forest fire on the Pleasanton Range, authorities said. Cal Fire calls this flame Fire in the canyon.

Cal Fire’s Santa Clara department said at 4:30 p.m.

Residents living in the Golden Eagle area have been ordered to evacuate due to a vegetation fire that broke out on Foothill Road between Bernal Avenue and Castlewood Drive, Pleasanton police said at 2:46 p.m. on Twitter.

Additional evacuations were ordered for residents of the Kilkare Road area in Sunol and the Golden Eagle Estates in Pleasanton.

Residents of Kilkare should be evacuated south of Kilkar to Niles Canyon, and residents of Golden Eagle Estates should be evacuated to Foothill and head north, Alameda County Fire Department officials said.

The evacuees can seek shelter at the Pleasanton Library, located at 400 Old Bernal Ave., which has been designated a shelter by authorities, Pleasanton police said.

Other fires broke out in the Bay Area on Thursday, including a vegetation fire near the Buena Vista Lane and Timm Road area in Vacaville and the Sunol area, according to Cal Fire officials on Twitter.

Smoke from the fire in the Sunol area can be seen from Fremont, according to Fremont Fire Department officials on Twitter.
