President Joe Biden accidentally dropped a replica card at a meeting at the White House on Thursday, offering a glimpse into simple instructions for the meeting.
Biden made remarks in Roosevelt Hall at a gathering of state governors to partner with 11 states to accelerate the growth of the offshore wind industry and its domestic supply chain in the United States.
The photographer documenting the event photographed one of the documents used by Biden during the meeting: a map with a replica entitled “The President” with the title of the event and instructions with bullets looks like Biden.

- “YOU take your place.”
- “Press login.”
- “YOU are giving brief comments,” this note was partially blocked by Biden’s finger.
- “Press leaves”.
- “YOU are asking Liz Schuler, President, AFL-CIO. Note: Liz is joining virtually.”
- “YOU thank the participants.”
- “You’re leaving.”
It is not uncommon for a leader’s team to draw up a memorandum of events, including instructions for the speaker. The White House press office did not immediately respond to Insider’s request for comment early Friday.
But the simplicity of the instructions – which included “YOU’RE leaving” at the end – sparked speculative comments among Biden’s political opponents, including Stephen Miller, a far-right former presidential adviser.
Miller tweeted about the map: “There should be an urgent hearing next year on the 25th Amendment.” The 25th Amendment concerns the removal of an incompetent president. There is no evidence that Biden is incapacitated.
Right-wing news outlets also referred to Biden as a serious blunder, with leading figures in The Daily Caller, The Daily Wire and the satirical website The Babylon Bee commenting on it.

At the event, Biden sticks to his oft-repeated position linking renewable energy to the economy: “When I think of ‘climate,’ when I think of ‘environment,’ I think of ‘jobs,'” he said.
In March 2021, the Biden administration announced a target to produce 30 gigawatts of offshore wind by 2030. In this way, the administration says it will create 77,000 jobs and avoid 78 million metric tons of CO2 emissions.
