A woman recounted her devastation after a relative mistakenly sold her collection of irreplaceable vinyl records for less than £ 1 each on a boot sale.
Rohan Meller, 26, inherited the 16-piece vinyl from her late uncle, with whom she was very close.
Includes first printed albums from the 1960s and 1970s by the Rolling Stones, David Bowie, The Beatles, AC / DC, The Who and The Clash.
An employee from Buxton, Derbyshire, learned that the vinyl had been accidentally sold to an unknown man at a shoe fair for a total of £ 15.50 on the day she and her husband returned home from their honeymoon.
While immediately forgiving the relative, they desperately try to trace the collection, which has enormous personal value, so that they can buy it back.
She said she was “completely shocked and horrified” by the loss, telling the BBC: “I’m a big fan of recordings. These were a few special ones. ”
Meller, whose Facebook message about the loss has been shared more than 700 times, desperately hopes the recordings will be returned.
She said: “We are more than happy to pay to get them back. I just want them back. It was never about their financial value. They were really important. “
Her husband, Rob, a 34-year-old electrician, plans to return to the Shoe Fair in Rosley, Derbyshire, on Sunday to try to find them. “She is devastated and desperate for someone to contact us,” he said.
Although the value of the records was mainly to whom they belonged, he said his wife was an avid vinyl fan. “It always turns off Spotify and makes me listen to appropriate recordings.”
He urged anyone with information on their whereabouts to contact Rowsley’s trunk organizers.
