Pride Edinburgh 2022: Thousands descend in the capital for the Edinburgh Pride

Jamie Love, marketing director of Edinburgh Pride, said his team expects about 5,000 people from and around the Scottish capital to attend, up from more than 12,000 in 2019.

The event, which begins with a march in the city center at noon, is led by Scottish Drag Race winner Lawrence Cheney, top-rated and Grammy-nominated singer Kelly-Lee, and Scottish X-Factor semi-finalists The Cutkelvins.

The headliners are backed by other X-Factor cast Caitlin Vanbeck and James Hughes, TikTok star Littlest Chicken, Ariana Grande’s tribute Simply Ariana and a surprise performance by Kinky Boots the Musical.

This year the main stage will be held in Potter with limited capacity. The party is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m., after Pride Edinburgh March ends.
