Update: Highway 17 is reopened in both directions after a collision Sunday afternoon.
According to Ontario 511, it closed just before 2pm on Sand Bay Road at the Spanish River Bridge.
Both lanes were closed until about 8 p.m., with cars on the way to reopen them.
No further details have been released so far.

In a tweet, police said Highway 17 would be closed indefinitely. They added that no detour was available.
