Pub owner Chris Parkin described the incident as “surreal” and said: “I’ve seen a few things in my time, but nothing like that.”
The 47-year-old owner, who has run The Stag Inn for nearly 30 years, was nearly knocked down when the singer entered.
“You never know who might come for a mug!” What a wonderful man he is, “wrote the owner of his post.

Chris and Dakota have been together since 2017 and are trying to keep their relationship out of the headlines.
The yellow singer, who shares the children Apple at 18 and Moses at 16, with his ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow, is on tour with his band.
Chris recently sold the mansion he once shared with Gwyneth for a staggering £ 7 million, The Mail on Sunday revealed.
The huge 33-room home in the Primrose Hill area of North London consists of two properties combined into one.

The couple bought the first for £ 2.5 million from Kate Winslet and her then-husband Sam Mendes in May 2004. They then bought the house next door for £ 3 million in 2009, before carrying out extensive construction work.
Now the combined home, which boasts eight bathrooms and a gym, has been sold to an Asian businessman for £ 12.5 million.
The property was the marriage home of Martin and Paltrow until they announced their “conscious separation” in 2014.
Although he moved to California, where he now lives with Fifty Shades of Gray actress Dakota, Martin kept the property.
A source said: “Chris got the house at the divorce, but kept it, even though he now lives in Malibu. This may have been a relationship with the United Kingdom for him, as his life is very American, but he certainly managed to make a decent profit from it.
