The Coburg police chief says the fatal shooting in the city center this morning was an isolated incident.
Chief Paul VandeGraaf says police responded to a report of gunfire in the Division and King Streets area shortly after 10 a.m.
A man was rushed to a hospital in Northumberland Hills, where he died of his injuries.
At a press conference this afternoon, Chief VandeGraaf said the victim was connected to a business in the center.
He added that there was no threat to public safety.
The Northumberland OPP is leading the investigation with the support of the Coburg police.
