A man is in serious condition after colliding with a stolen car in a pillar of sandstone and wood in Knowsley.
A delivery driver said his black Vauxhall Astra was stolen at Hastie Close, Netherley, around 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 28. The victim, in her 50s, said the keys were snatched from his hand by a man in his 20s.
The victim tried to take the keys from his car from the suspect when he was threatened with a knife. Police confirmed that when the delivery driver was in the process of reporting the robbery, police were called to report a crash on Netherley Road, shortly around 10:40 p.m.

Detectives found that the stolen Vauxhall Astra crashed into an Ox Lane sandstone and wood pole in Tarbock Green. The driver, a 20-year-old man, was seriously injured and taken to hospital. He is in a severe but stable condition.
Forensic scientists have launched an investigation into the circumstances and are urging people who witnessed the robbery to come out. Residents living in Hasti Close and surrounding roads were asked to check whether their CCTV cameras had filmed the robbery or the suspect was moving away from the scene.
Detective Inspector Chris Saidi said: “We are now gathering the circumstances of what happened. As you can imagine, the delivery driver was very shaken by the accident, which happened while trying to make an honest living and receive the full support of the officers.
“I urge anyone who was around last night at around 10.30 pm and may have noticed something suspicious to contact us, as this will help our investigation. I also urge drivers and residents of Hastie Close and surrounding areas who have CCTV and a control camera to check your footage, which may have captured the robbery and the car leaving on Netherley Road to Ox Lane.
