Fayetteville, North Carolina – Law enforcement is investigating a third scene involving Fayetteville’s double murder.
Near the Selma Memorial Gardens, numerous agencies were spotted looking for Reims Moses Santiago, 29, from Clayton.
Santiago has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder, one of second-degree kidnapping and one of attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon in connection with the deaths of 33-year-old Marcelo Brady and 27-year-old Nakia Brooks in Fayetteville.
Since Monday night, law enforcement has been searching near the Selma Memorial Gardens on 301 US Highway 70 US Highway Business. Officials said Santiago crashed his car into the back of Selma Memorial Gardens.
This is the second car abandoned during the search for Santigo. Earlier in the day, officials said Santiago abandoned another car on Blount Street in Smithfield. The driver of the Toyota jumped out of their vehicle, according to witnesses who saw the man flee.
According to Fayetteville Police Department, officers responded to a home in the Creeks Edge Townhome community at 5700 on Aftonshire Drive on Monday around 12:15 p.m.
The owner of the house said he went home to find a man on the floor of his home, and Fayetteville police found a second man shot and killed outside in the backyard.
Fayetteville police identified the two as Brady and Brooks.
Lieutenant Sean Strepey said the shooting did not appear to be accidental and said a “third party” was involved.
Fayetteville police said Santiago knew Brady and Brooks before they died.
Santiago is considered armed and dangerous.
