A 31-year-old woman died in an accident early this morning in North Staffordshire. Police were called on Macclesfield Road, in Poolend, near Rudyard, at 3:10 a.m. today (Saturday, May 7) following reports of a vehicle collision.
The driver of a white Audi A3 from Cheshire was found inappropriate. Unfortunately, she was later pronounced dead by paramedics.
Firefighters were also called to assist the scene. The section of A523 Macclesfield Road is closed for most of the day as police check. Part of a wall on the road was also damaged.

The woman’s family is supported by specially trained police officers and her name has not yet been released.
PC Martin Kolkloff, the case officer, said: “We would like to hear from anyone who has seen what happened, or from those who may have relevant footage from the area’s management camera at the time of the incident. Contact us on Facebook, Twitter or call 101, quoting incident number 90 on May 7.
