A substitute primary school teacher in Southern California has been arrested on suspicion of harassing four female students in a classroom, authorities said.
The alleged victims, aged 8 and 9, told investigators that the teacher had touched them inappropriately in isolated incidents at Adams Elementary School in Santa Ana, according to local police.
“Each victim was harassed individually and at different times throughout the day,” a statement from the Santa Ana Police Department said.
The criminal, identified by ABC 7 in Los Angeles as 69-year-old Peter Morales, paid $ 100,000 bail after his arrest.
Morales was a teacher in Santa Ana’s school system for 18 years before becoming a deputy.
Detectives believe there may be more alleged victims, ABC 7 reported.
