PC Matthew Tregale has been charged in connection with attempted rape, false imprisonment and sexual assault
A police officer from Devon and Cornwall is due to appear at Plymouth Magistrates’ Court after being summoned in connection with eight offences. PC Matthew Tregale, 33, is currently suspended.
He is due to appear at Plymouth Crown Court on Tuesday, July 26.

The offenses for which he is being questioned are attempted rape, false imprisonment, sexual assault, three counts of sexual assault by penetration and two counts of coercive and controlling behavior.
A statement released by the force added: “The charges relate to incidents which occurred while the officer was off duty between 2006 and 2021.”
