A fourth suspect has been charged with the murder of Chad Kovalchuk

A fourth man has been charged with the death of Chad Kovalchuk.

On Sunday, 32-year-old Justin Allen Urban of Calgary was charged with first-degree murder. He is due to appear in court today, Thursday, April 28.

Three other men have previously been charged in the case: Robert Wayne Sims, 30, of Calgary, Ronald Leon Abraham, 41, and Justin Angus Boucher, 30, all of whom are charged with first-degree murder. Boucher faces additional arson charges.

On Friday, February 18, around 5 am, a fire was reported in block 100 of Douglas Ridge Green SE. After it was extinguished, a dead man was identified inside, who was identified as Chad Kovalchuk.

Police say a man has been charged with murder after a body was found on February 18, 2022, in a burned-out home in southeastern Calgary.
