A homicide investigation began after the man was found dead in Neath – live updates

A murder investigation has been launched after a man was found dead in Nit. Officials confirmed that the body of a 66-year-old man was found in a property at Heol Catwg in Caewern on Wednesday (April 27th).

A police cordon remains at the scene, while crime scene investigators and investigators are conducting inspections. The 66-year-old man has not yet been officially identified.

Residents say they first noticed the police presence around 1pm on Wednesday and explain that it was a shock to see so many police officers in the area. Witnesses also said they saw two ambulances, a fire truck and guard dogs at the scene. On the evening of Thursday, April 28, six police cars and forensic teams inspected the property.

South Wales police have also confirmed that a 38-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in police custody. An increased police presence will remain in the area in the coming days.

Senior Investigative Detective Darren George said: “I can confirm that the murder investigation is ongoing since the discovery of the body of a man at Heol Catwg yesterday.
