A kidnapping victim who was “tied up in the trunk of a car” has been found by police investigating a crushed vehicle in Nottingham | United Kingdom news

A kidnapping victim who was strapped into the trunk of a car was found by police while investigating a report of a crushed car.

Officers have now arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of damages and kidnapping.

Police were called to a house in the Clifton area of ​​Nottingham around 10.15pm on Thursday, initially due to a report of damage.

They arrived and found a broken living room window and a broken car parked in front of the property.

But while they were at the scene, police also received a report of a man who was hit on the head and stuck in the trunk of a car.

The victim was then found to be abducted with a black eye, cuts on the head and swelling around the mouth.

Police went to another address in Clifton and detained a 31-year-old man.

Nottinghamshire Police Detective Sergeant Georgina Gallagher said: “These are very serious crimes and the officers did a good job of detaining the suspect within an hour of being summoned for the criminal damage report.

“Thanks to their quick work, the man who was abducted was safely located and supported by specialists.

She added that investigations are ongoing, but the forces are “satisfied that the people involved know each other” and there is no greater threat to the local community.
