Waterloo Regional Police have arrested a 44-year-old man for second-degree murder after a 42-year-old woman was found dead at Kitchener’s home.
Police were called to the Green Valley Drive and Arrowhead Crescent areas for inspection on Sunday, police said.
Shortly after 9pm on Sunday, police tweeted that there was an increased police presence in the area to investigate.
Police later confirmed that they found a dead woman in the home and detained a man.
Shortly after 1pm on Monday, police announced the age of the victim and the accused and said they had accused the man of second-degree murder.
Police said the victim and the accused knew each other, but did not provide further details about the nature of their relationship.
The investigation continues. Anyone with information about the incident has been asked to contact the Waterloo Regional Police Office.
