A man who was seriously injured in an attack in the western part of the city last March has died, Toronto police said.

The incident happened on the afternoon of March 11 in the area of ​​Jane Street and Monty Avenue, north of Annette Street.

Police say two men were involved in an altercation, as a result of which one of them was taken to a life-threatening hospital.

A 26-year-old man identified as Pal Pinti was subsequently arrested and charged with attempted murder, assault and assault with a weapon.

Police said the victim died of her injuries at the hospital on Friday. He is identified as Robert Ratz.

As a result, police said the charges against Pintyi would be improved at a later date.

The investigation was taken over by the Homicide Department.
