A man wanted for the murder of a Calgary woman was arrested Friday afternoon

Calgary police have arrested a man believed to be responsible for Friday afternoon’s murder.

Shortly before 4 pm, police arrested Gerald Russell Frommelt, 37, in an apartment located on block 1900 on 24th Street SW

Frommelt was wanted for the murder of Jamie Scheible, who was killed on April 7 in the northeastern Temple community.

Employees were called to block 300 of Templeview Drive NE around 7:15 p.m. on April 7 for reports of gunshots. Officers arrived to find a woman with serious injuries, who was later identified as Scheible.

She later died.
