An earthquake struck off the coast of Vancouver Island on Friday evening.
The 4.8-magnitude quake hit Vancouver Island at 7:50 p.m. at a depth of about 20 miles, according to Earthquakes Canada. The epicenter was 34 km west west of Tofino.
The tremor was felt lightly across the island and there were no reports of damage at this time.
As of Friday evening, 78 people had reported feeling the quake to Earthquakes Canada.
