A murder investigation has been launched following the Lakeside mall attack

An investigation has been launched into the murder of a man at the Lakeside Mall. Essex police were called to the mall at around 4.30pm today (April 28th) following reports of an attack.

Emergency services, including an air ambulance, were sent to Lakeside, but the victim died on the spot. He has not yet been named by police.

Essex police said officers believed it was a targeted attack. It is alleged that two men attacked the victim near the dining hall.

The suspects are described as black or of Asian ethnicity. One was wearing blue ripped jeans, a white T-shirt, black sneakers, and a black down jacket, carrying a small bag. The other was described as wearing a blue suit and white sneakers.

Senior Investigator, Chief Detective, Inspector General Scott Egerton, of the Kent and Essex Serious Crimes Directorate, said: I want to express my condolences to the family after this terrible attack. At the time of the attack, this area of ​​the mall would have been busy, so I believe someone will have seen what happened.
