A pedestrian was taken to a Glasgow hospital after being hit by a van at the eastern end

A pedestrian was rushed to hospital after being hit by a car in Glasgow.

The collision happened around 5:20 pm tonight on Cumbernauld Road in the Haghill area of ​​the city.

Police and ambulance crews were alerted to the scene, and the pedestrian was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment.

It is currently unknown what the condition of the pedestrian is.

Footage from the scene, sent to Glasgow live, shows the emergency services present and a white van with a damaged windshield.

A Scottish police spokesman said: “At around 5.20pm on Thursday, April 21, 2022, police were called after a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle on Cumbernauld Road, Glasgow.

The road is currently closed west on Cumbernauld Road in Alexandra Parade, Glasgow.

“The pedestrian was taken by ambulance to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

“Currently there are no details of injuries, if any.
