A student was stabbed during a battle at a high school in the Coatesville area of ​​Chester County, Pennsylvania

COATSVILLE, PA (WPVI) – A student was injured after being stabbed in a high school in the Coatesville area of ​​Chester County, Pennsylvania.

“This is an extremely embarrassing incident,” Dr. Rick Dunlap, deputy director of the Coatesville School District, said in a letter to families Tuesday morning.

According to the supervisor, a fight broke out between two students at the school at around 7:30 am

“I am extremely sorry to report that at least one of the students was stabbed and transported to the hospital,” Dunlap said.

Authorities told Action News that the student had been taken to Paoli Hospital. The student’s condition is not reported.

Dunlap said the school, which consists of 11th and 12th grades, was guarded by police. He said the students were not in danger.

Cologne police have confirmed to Action News that the school has been blocked.

School staff began the process of firing students shortly after the incident.

“CASH is already an active crime scene and we need to give our police departments time and space to complete their investigation, while ensuring that there is no more disruption today,” Dunlap said.

The principal said the students would be interviewed when fired. He said the school will continue with consultations for students and staff.
