A top name on Canada’s most wanted list was arrested hours after the list went public

The leading name in a new list of Canada’s most wanted violent fugitives was arrested just hours after the list – and a $ 250,000 reward – was made public.

On October 13, 2021, 43-year-old Craig MacDonald watched a Leafs match at Boston Pizza in the Cinemart Drive area and Milner Avenue in Scarborough.

He reportedly quarreled with a man in the restaurant who allegedly waited for him in the parking lot and shot him to death.

Police have identified the suspects in the incident as Abilaziz Mohammed.

On Tuesday morning, police and the national BOLO program, along with some of Canada’s largest police agencies, identified Mohammed as the number one fugitive on Canada’s new list of most wanted.

They also offered a $ 250,000 reward for information leading to his arrest, available for the next six months.

By Tuesday night, someone had sent an anonymous report and Mohammed had been arrested, Toronto police said.

“We hope this ensures a small part of the closure of the victim’s family,” said Toronto Police Chief James Ramer. “We work proudly and effectively with our BOLO partners, and this successful arrest sends a clear message to those who continue to evade justice – you will be found.”

Mohammed faces a first-degree murder charge.

He appeared in court via video link on 1911 Eglinton Avenue East on Wednesday morning.

BOLO program director Max Langlois told CP24 that the swift arrest was a sign that the list would do its job and bring violent refugees out of the streets.

“I want to thank the citizens of the Greater Toronto area for being vigilant about Abilaziz Mohammed. This arrest not only makes the communities in the GTA safer, but also allows the victim’s family to take the next step forward in this horrific journey. The message to all prominent BOLO refugees is this: The whole country is on the alert for you. Call a lawyer. Call the police. Make arrangements to surrender. “

The next highest wanted list is Gene Carl Larkamp, a 36-year-old British Columbian wanted for the February 5, 2022, murder of 32-year-old Jimmy Sandu in Muang, Phuket, Thailand.

He is considered armed and dangerous.

A $ 100,000 reward is offered for information leading to his arrest.
