Amber Heard returned Thursday to testify in the ongoing defamation trial led by her ex-husband Johnny Depp.
Hurd’s testimony began on Thursday with three photos she took of Depp in 2013. At the time, she had been in a relationship with the actor for more than a year.
In the first photo, Depp was sleeping in a chair on his private island. Hurd testified that Depp had a “brief period of sobriety” before resuming drug use when the photo was taken.
A second photo was of sleeping Depp after what Hurd called a “several-day bender.” She said the actor had not eaten or slept much at the time.

Hurd testified that she asked Depp for a prenuptial agreement before they got married. She claims that he rejected her request, telling her: “The only way out is death.”
Hurd then described the couple’s presence at the Met Gala in 2014. Hurd said Depp accused her of flirting with a woman at the event. She said that when they returned home, Depp grabbed her by the neck and threw a bottle at her, which missed and broke a chandelier.
She claims that Depp held her and “hit” her in the face. She said she suspected she had a broken nose because it was swollen, discolored and red. (It’s not clear if Hurd’s nose was ever broken.)

Asked about filming Adderal Diaries with actor James Franco, Hurd said Depp “hates” Franco and accused her of “secretly having something” with the actor before.
Hurd said Depp had trouble with the sex scene she and Franco played in the film, and that Depp called her a “slut” and asked a few vulgar questions about the scene and her body.
When she tried to leave the conversation, Hurd said Depp kicked her in the back, but said no one had helped her, although there were several witnesses to the attack.

Hurd also testified to Depp’s detoxification from the opioid, Roxicodone. She claims that the actor’s mood is sporadic and intense, suddenly moving from excitement to anger and violence. “It was hell,” she said.

Hurd testified that the couple often got into arguments and said “terrible things” to each other.
“I am so ashamed of the names we would call ourselves,” she said, adding that they both “fit into this model.”
As Hurd’s testimony continued, she answered questions about her now-famous trip to Australia, in which Depp lost the tip of his middle finger. Earlier, Depp testified to the broken figure when Hurd threw a glass bottle of vodka in his hand.

She said that when she met Depp in Australia, “he had lost a lot of weight” and then realized that “something happened”.
At the meeting (both working on separate projects), Hurd said Depp asked her to do MDMA with him, but said she flatly refused.

When she tried to leave, she said Depp pushed her and she “slipped” on the floor. She said Depp then held her by the throat to the refrigerator before she punched him in the face in revenge and “ran away.”

Hurd claims that the next day Depp remained paranoid that she had an affair with her colleague Eddie Redmain and actor Billy Bob Thornton.
That night, Hurd said they had a “warlike” battle in which Depp shouted and threw things at her. “It didn’t make sense,” she said.
She remembered Depp pressing her against the refrigerator and “hitting my head hard.” Hurd said Depp drank in front of her “to make a point.”
Hurd said Depp threw her on the game table and started punching her in the face. After some fighting, the couple physically separated and she smashed a bottle on the floor.
She said Depp threw another bottle at her, which she missed. “At one point, he had a broken bottle next to my face, the neck area next to my jaw, and he told me he was going to carve my face,” she said.
She went on to testify through tears that Depp had torn her nightgown, leaving her naked.
Hurd said Depp climbed on top of her. “I looked him in the eye and it wasn’t him,” she said.
Hurd, speaking through sobs and covering his face, told the jury that Depp kept hitting her.
“I felt pain and there was pressure on my pubic bone,” she said, explaining that she later realized she had been punched hard with a glass bottle. “I remember being really still and not wanting to move.”

“I didn’t know if the bottle inside me was broken,” she told the court during her sobs.
When the alleged attack ended, she fled to the toilet, where she began vomiting and lost control of her bladder.
When she showed up, “a few hours” later, she said Depp had covered the walls and surfaces with various messages of paint, including a “giant penis” on a wall painting.
Hurd claims that Depp showed her his severed finger. She said she then called an ambulance.

The jury was shown several photos of the damaged property, broken glass and bloody messages from Depp.
Hurd testified for the first time on Wednesday, telling the court many times that she and other people had suffered physical violence from Depp.
She told the court about a time when Depp was allegedly convinced she was hiding his cocaine, and he fiercely touched her and tore her underwear before conducting a “cavity search”.

She also recounted two separate times when she said Depp threatened to break the wrists of women he thought were hitting her.

In the court battle between the two stars, Hurd, 36, and Depp, 58, claim to be victims of violence. The original lawsuit began when Depp filed a $ 50 million defamation lawsuit over a Washington Post publication written in late 2018 about domestic violence.
Hurd did not mention Depp by name in the article, but the actor claims that his reputation and career were still “devastated” as a result.
As he took office on Wednesday, Hurd told the jury that the process was “incredibly painful” and “the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do.”
On Tuesday, after Depp’s legal team finished questioning their witnesses, Hurd’s lawyers asked the judge to dismiss the lawsuit, arguing that Depp had failed to present his case in law and that no reasonable jury could find in his favor.

Judge Penny Azkarate said the standard of dismissal at this point in the trial was extremely high and that the case should be allowed to continue if Depp provided even a “scintilla” of evidence to support his allegations; she then rejected the request.
