An 18-year-old teenager dies and another fights for his life after a car hits a wall in Wolverhampton

A teenager died and another fought for his life after a car hit a wall in a terrible crash in Wolverhampton. The 18-year-old passenger was tragically pronounced dead at the site of the Oaks Drive accident after the crash at around 1.45 am.

Police confirmed that the driver, also 18, was rushed to hospital, where he remained in critical condition. An investigation into the crash of the red Vauxhall Corsa has now begun.

A West Midlands police spokesman said: “A teenager died tragically and another was seriously injured after a car hit a wall in Wolverhampton in the early hours of this morning (April 17th). It happened near Marydale Road, near the intersection of Oaks Drive, Chapel Ash, around 1.45 am.

“Unfortunately, an 18-year-old passenger has been confirmed dead on the spot. The 18-year-old driver was taken to hospital in critical condition.

“Our thoughts are with their loved ones and we will offer them support at this terrible time. The cordon remains in place while officers from our Serious Clashes Investigation Unit make inquiries to find out exactly what happened.

“We would ask people not to speculate at this stage, but anyone who has information should contact us as soon as possible. We want to hear from everyone who was in the area at the time and saw the red Vauxhall Corsa. I especially strive to provide all the footage from the control camera. “
