Provincial police are investigating after officers said they found a drone carrying a bag full of several pistols in Lambton County – a device they believe was brought to Canada from the United States

A Lambton OPP has been notified of a large drone stranded in a tree along the St. Clair River near Port Lambton around 8:30 a.m. last Friday, police said.

A bag with 11 pistols, which investigators believe came from the United States, was attached to the drone, police said.

Police seized the guns and are investigating.

“Drone” refers to unmanned aircraft. They are increasingly common among technology enthusiasts and amateurs as photographers and can be easily purchased.
