The Nintendo Switch continues to sell like hot cakes, despite reports of a 20% year-on-year reduction from Nintendo’s own financial statements. The hybrid console has now reached another milestone, surpassing overall PS4 sales in the United States.
This means that the Switch is now the fourth best-selling console in the United States, after Nintendo’s PS2, Xbox 360 and Wii.
Features of the NPD report for April 2022:
– Switch surpasses PS4 in lifetime sales in the US, now the 4th best-selling console after PS2, 360, Wii
– PS5 still lags behind the Switch and Xbox Series in unit sales for 2022 in the US, 4 months a year. It is still scarce

Nintendo estimates another 21 million global sales for the Switch in fiscal year 2023, so there’s every chance that U.S. sales in particular could help the Switch rise even higher.
Despite such a big stage, there are signs that the Switch has passed its peak, so we looked at what could happen with the potential release of a successor.
