The Canadian Food Inspection Agency says bird flu has been found in three other communities in Alberta.
The agency said the highly pathogenic H5N1 strain of bird flu was confirmed Sunday in a small herd in Tuhls County.
This was also confirmed in Wainwright and Lethbridge counties.
Bird flu was first detected in flocks of birds in Alberta last month.

The agency said bird flu is not a significant public health concern for healthy people who are not in regular contact with infected birds.

It also says that the cases serve as a strong reminder that avian influenza is spreading around the world and that anyone who has farm animals must practice good biosecurity habits to protect poultry and prevent disease.
The latest bird flu epidemic began last year in Europe and has since spread to the United States and Canada, devastating some commercial farms with very high mortality rates.
