Despite the efforts of the Florida Democrats, the Florida legislature has approved a congressional map approved by Gov. Ron DeSantis that will severely restrict the right to vote for blacks in the state.
Earlier in the day, Florida Democrats held a sitting in the state parliament to adjourn the special legislative session.
“What we are seeing today is overkill and it is something we find unacceptable,” Democrat spokeswoman Camia Brown, who chairs the black legislature, told the Associated Press after the Associated Press after the session closed. “Today was one thing we couldn’t just take and stand. We are tired of being sick and tired. ”
The congressional card adopted today favors the Republican Party in 20 of the state’s 28 congressional districts, increasing by four seats for the party, eliminating two congressional districts where black voters have the opportunity to choose the candidate of their choice. One, the Fifth Congressional District, which stretches from Jacksonville to Tallahassee and has a voting population of 46 percent blacks, will be divided into four districts, where black voters make up a much smaller proportion.

Donald Trump is on the news again, this time for … not on the news?
Trump denies escaping a TV interview with Pierce Morgan, instead claiming that yesterday’s video promoting “the most explosive interview of the year” was misleadingly edited to give the impression that he was shouting “turn off the camera As he rose from his chair in anger.
Trump’s team provided audio to the American media, suggesting that he said “turn off the camera” after he and Morgan exchanged courtesies at the end of the interview.
“It’s a pathetic attempt to use President Trump as a way to revive the career of a failed TV presenter,” said Taylor Budovic, a Trump spokesman.
“He says it’s a rigged election, and now he’s saying I have a rigged promotion,” Morgan said. “What I would say is watch the interview. Everything will be there. We will not make any duplicitous edits. “

It was a long day in Florida. The first Democrats in Florida held a session in the state parliament, stopping a special legislative session at which Republicans are ready to adopt new counties in Congress that will seriously reduce the electoral power of blacks in the state.
While this was happening, the Florida legislature passed a bill to remove Disney World’s self-government status.
INFRINGEMENT: The Florida Legislature has passed a bill to remove Disney World’s self-government status in retaliation for (late) opposition to Disney’s Florida Don’t Say Gay Act. He is now heading to the DeSantis bureau to sign a law.

This bill to break up Disney World’s self-government came after Disney opposed what critics called the “Don’t Say Gay” state law, which bans sexual orientation and gender identity education in kindergarten until third grade.
If Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signs the bill, it could have huge tax implications for Disney – but Democrats have also warned that the move could cause local homeowners to get big tax bills if they have to take on a Disney bond.

Much of her collection of paintings and ceramics formed a 115-lot modern art auction, organized by Potomack of Alexandria, Virginia, in an online catalog. An additional collection entitled “Cameras and Home” includes 145 many different interesting things, including tin bowls, crystal vases and many other personal items.

One of the most valuable items is the 1953 oil painting Presagio-Premonition by Mexican artist Günther Herzo, which is expected to raise up to $ 100,000.
Among the most personal is the “natural black mink coat of the Gartenhaus” with Ginzburg’s embroidered name in his pocket. By Thursday morning, the bid for it was already over $ 2,000, more than twice the original estimate.
Picasso’s pottery and Warhol’s painting on a box of tomato soup are among the other highlights.
“These items are truly tangible parts of her life and times as one of America’s greatest judges of the Supreme Court,” Elizabeth Haney Weinstein, owner of the Potomack Company, told the New York Times.

The acclaimed and highly acclaimed CNN + subscription streaming service, which the network intends to complement its regular news programs, was discontinued less than a month after it was launched.
The decision to suspend the service on April 30 will be seen as a huge humiliation for CNN, which relied on its big-name presenters to attract customers for $ 5.99 a month.
However, development was slow and CNN +’s new corporate owners, Warner Bros Discovery, decided to close on Thursday.
The company’s hopes for 2 million subscribers in the first year seemed highly optimistic, with reports saying it had attracted just 150,000 in the three weeks since its launch.
In a statement to employees trying to describe the sudden closure as a shift in resources, CNN’s new president Chris Licht said:
Although today’s decision is incredibly difficult, it is the right one for CNN’s long-term success. This allows us to redirect resources to the core products that drive our only focus: further improving CNN’s journalism and its reputation as a world leader in news.
Interruption: CNN +, the streaming service that has been hailed as one of the most significant developments in CNN history, will close on April 30, just one month after launch. Here is our initial story – more https://t.co/JElI3cVyDF

Black Democrats staged a sit-in protest in the Florida legislature to disrupt congressional approval of plans to redirect Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis, who they say seeks to eliminate black voter representation.
According to the Miami Herald, a special legislative session convened by DeSantis was adjourned shortly before noon on Thursday when black lawmakers began chanting and white colleagues joined the protest.

While her microphone was muted, Angie Nixon, a Democrat from Jacksonville, walked the floor with a T-shirt under her jacket that said “Stop the Black Attack” and held a sign in …
