Bill de Blasio expects to run to the newly recruited place in New York, which Nadler abandoned

Just when he thinks he’s out …

Former New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio has told a U.S. lawmaker he plans to run for the newly formed 10th Congressional District of New York – fortified MP Gerold Nadler is leaving to fight former longtime ally, Republican Caroline Maloney directing 12th

De Blasio told State MP Simcha Eichenstein (D-Borough Park) on Tuesday afternoon that “he is determined to take part in the race”.

“He’s running, he’s running – he’s calling people,” Eichenstein said, saying the Post de Blasio has a list of donors and others on its list to inform.

“Based on the conversation I had with him earlier today, he is running for Congress in the new NY-10 congressional district.”

“He called me earlier this afternoon. Although I will keep our conversation confidential, I will confirm that we talked for more than 20 minutes about his decision to run for this county. “

Earlier, De Blasio had considered running for the NY-11 area – before the state’s relocation maps were discarded for the first time – but then turned down his offer.

“These neighborhoods are not foreign to him, he represents some of these neighborhoods from 2001, and whether it was perfect or not at all times – this relationship is long-standing and deep,” Eichenstein added.

“Today I do not support anyone, let’s see how this race will be formed and who will be on the ballot in the end.

De Blasio, who has been living with his wife Chirlaine at a hotel in Brooklyn since leaving his office while renovating his home in Park Slope, did not immediately respond to a request for comment when he was approached by The Post.

But another source told The Post that Pini Ringel, who worked as de Blasio’s mayor’s office’s liaison with the orthodox Jewish community, also called a community leader in Brooklyn on Monday to assess support for her boss and to discuss it.

“He will not receive Orthodox support,” the source said. “The middle Joe on the street believes that de Blasio is the worst mayor of all time.

Draft plan for the newly drawn 10 sections of Lower Manhattan – including Tribeca, Greenwich Village, East Village and Lower East Side – to Brooklyn, including parts of DUMBO, Brooklyn Heights, own Park Slope Park, Blasiot, plus Wind Terrace and Borough Park.

There is also a very small percentage of black voters in the area who were de Blasio’s strongest supporters during his tenure as mayor, according to opinion polls. The population of the new eligible region is 8% black, 20% Asian, 37% Spanish and 31% white.

Others who have expressed interest in running for the new seat include US Senator Brad Hoyleman (D-Manhattan) and US MP Robert Carroll (D-Park Slope).

The final maps of the new neighborhoods will be approved on Friday.

This is not the first time de Blasio has looked at a taller office.

He ran a failed presidential campaign in 2020 after failing to win even 1% of voter support in national polls. De Blasio played fraudulently on his duties to the mayor’s office during his short-term candidacy, failed to attract more than 15 campaign voters in major states, and also received thousands of donations from business people before the city.

Before leaving office, de Blasio also toyed with the start of a gubernatorial term before abandoning the idea.

He recently wrote an opinion in The Atlantic, giving unsolicited advice to President Joe Biden on how to better connect with ordinary Americans – a feat he regrets he never achieved as mayor of Gotham.
