A reindeer party sank a boat on the canal in Droitwich.
The group that rented the boat, believed to be a deer, is believed to have abandoned another boat.
The boat is now being rescued by the River Canal rescue team, while the Canal and Rivers Trust plans to launch a full investigation.
A CRT spokesman said: “I think it was a bachelor party and there were three boats.
“One was the one who got into trouble and that was because they didn’t work properly with the locks and oars, so in the end their boat got stuck.
“The first time the Trust was informed of the situation was at 9.30 pm last night, but it was only in connection with the flooding of the nearby road.
“Around 22:15 it was found to be related to improper use of the locks.
“At 6:30 this morning, we were notified by the West Midlands Fire Department that the boat had sunk.
At that moment, a CRT team visited the site where it was found that the water had fallen during the night, creating a “slight risk”.
The spokesman added: “We are relieved that there are no injuries or worse.
“Two of our officers stayed on the scene to make sure it was protected and to keep in touch with the fire and rescue service of the river canal.”
The rescue team shared its efforts on Facebook.
The publication reads: “The rescue team on the spot returns to the voyage the rental boat, which was in grief during the flights of the Droitwich lock.
All boats were owned by ABC Boat Hire.
A company spokesman said: “The full deliveries took place at the marina before the guests left the shipyard yesterday afternoon.
“The parties were removed from the other boats in the group and no one was injured.
“The boat is currently being removed from the lock.”
Another user of the channel, Amanda Huxtable, claims that her boat was hit by an ABC boat shortly after 10 pm on Friday night.
She said: “I called the police because I was extremely scared of what was happening
“These boys were not in charge of a 65-foot narrow boat.
“ABC had launched three narrow boats at a bachelor party.
“One sank in a sluice after mooring in it, one went elsewhere through the canal system, and a third hit me at Astwood Lane near Stoke Pryor.”
