Bomb hoax teenager escorted by Spanish fighter jet | News

Spanish military jets intercepted an EasyJet flight from Gatwick after a British teenager on board was accused of posting a bomb hoax on social media.

The 18-year-old Briton, who was traveling with five friends to the island of Menorca, spent the night in jail and is awaiting a court hearing, a spokesman for Spain’s Civil Guard said.

Video of the incident shows an F-18 flying close to the orange wingtips of the Airbus A319, which normally carries between 120 and 150 passengers. The fighter flapped its wings, indicating that the other pilot was to follow.
