Boris Johnson is considered a “liar” by voters, according to a poll

Boris Johnson is widely considered a liar by British voters, according to a new poll.

A survey by JLPartners found that only 16% of people would use positive language to describe the prime minister, with more than 70% describing it in negative terms.

Voters were asked to describe the prime minister, with the most common description being a “liar” – followed by “incompetent” and “distrustful”.

The poll, a nationally commissioned sample commissioned by The Times, comes after the prime minister was fined for violating Covid’s rules during a blockchain birthday party.

Mr Johnson had previously insisted that he did not know about Downing Street parties and said he was furious when he found out.

One respondent said: “He was the right person to do Brexit, but now he has to leave. He is a liar and has broken the law. We need change. “

Another added: “In the beginning I really liked him and felt that he would be good for the country, but now he was in power, he was one of the worst prime ministers ever … he is so irrelevant and has no idea how most people live your life. “

Other words regularly used by voters to describe the prime minister include “idiot” and “buffoon”, while one voter described him as a “full anus”.

James Johnson, a former №10 sociologist who runs JLPartners, said: “In general, the partygate dominates Boris’s views on Ukraine.

“Fury has not backed down. Many negative comments are from people who liked him before, but have now changed their minds.

“When Johnson first took power, only Labor voters would call him a liar. It’s widespread now. “

Boris Johnson cannot be removed from office until the next general election, which will take place in 2025 at the latest.

But Tory MPs could choose to vote no confidence in his leadership and replace him with another conservative.
