The prime minister’s chances of political survival are 50/50, says a Tory commentator
Harriet Harman, the longest-serving female member of parliament, called for misogyny among her colleagues to be punishable by removal from the municipality amid outrage over sexist allegations against Angela Raynor.
Sir Lindsay Hoyle called the editor of the Mail on Sunday to discuss an article containing widely condemned allegations attributed to a Tory MP that the Labor deputy leader had crossed his legs in an attempt to dispel Boris Johnson in the municipality.
The prime minister condemned the comments as “the most horrific burden of sexist, misogynistic bellies” and threatened to unleash “horrors on earth” if the source behind the allegations was ever found. No formal inquiry has been announced yet.
Mr Johnson, meanwhile, appears to have fallen in Tory opinion polls, while Conservative MPs from various factions have said they are working together to bring him down in response to the ongoing Partygate scandal.
But speaking to reporters while campaigning in Bury ahead of the May local election, Mr Johnson insisted he remained his party’s electoral asset.

Boris Johnson asked Trump not to appear in an interview with Pierce Morgan in December 2019
Donald Trump claims that the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Boris Johnson forced him to cancel an interview with Pierce Morgan shortly before the general election.
The former US president said in an interview broadcast Monday night that Mr Johnson had asked him not to appear in an interview with Good Morning Britain in December 2019.
Mr Trump said the interview was canceled at the last minute when the British prime minister intervened. He added that he did not know why Mr Johnson had asked him not to appear at the interview, but said he had done what the prime minister had asked him to do.
During an interview with Palk Morgan Uncensored on Talk TV, the presenter suggested that this may be due to the fact that the interview may have created “something that would have cost him the election” – which was just days after the planned interview. .

Sexist comments are a “universal” experience for women MPs, says the mother of the Chamber
The longest-serving lawmaker in parliament said sexist lawmakers could now make “impunity” comments that could lead to allegations of gross misconduct if made by a senior executive in a private company against a colleague.
Calling for the misogyny among MPs to be punishable by expulsion from the municipalities, Lady Harriet Harman told The Independent that comments such as those made for Angela Raynor in the Mail on Sunday were a “universal” experience for women in the municipalities.
Dam Harriet warned that such behavior has worsened since she arrived in Westminster in 1982 as one of only 21 women MPs and is regularly ridiculed as the Harriet Harperson.

Punish sexist MPs by removing them, says the highest-ranking woman in the municipalities
The highest-ranking woman MP in parliament has called for a change in the code of conduct for municipalities to make misogyny a crime punishable by removal from the House, said our political editor Andrew Woodcock.
Dam Harriet said it was “not good enough” for Boris Johnson to simply deny the insulting remark, telling The Independent: “He should not just comment on it, he should take action.
“The prime ministers are judged by their actions, not by their words. He could very easily take action to find out who made these comments and remove the whip from them. “
Turning misogynistic, homophobic and racist language into a specific violation of the Code of Conduct would allow an investigation by Commons Standards Commissioner Catherine Stone, which could potentially lead to a humiliating apology on the House floor or removal. Suspension for more than 10 days may trigger a petition to recall in the constituency of the deputy for their removal from office.

A legal challenge to the Northern Ireland Protocol has been referred to the Supreme Court
A legal challenge to the Northern Ireland Protocol was referred to the UK’s highest court, which was welcomed by union politicians.
Last year, a case alleging that the post-Brexit trade agreement violated 1,800 acts of the Union was rejected by both the Supreme Court and the Belfast Court of Appeal.
But Northern Ireland’s chief judge, Lady Sioban Keegan, has already allowed an appeal, and the case will now be heard by Supreme Court justices, although a date has not yet been set.
TUV leader Jim Alistair, one of several people behind the case, said he was “pleased” with the move, which he called a “clear indication and recognition of the fact that there are significant legal and constitutional issues that need to be resolved.” from the highest court in our land. “
He said he was looking forward to “final decisions that go to the heart of Northern Ireland’s position as an endangered part of the United Kingdom”, adding: “This is a battle that must be fought both legally and politically.”

Boris Johnson’s inconsistency “undermines” his support, suggests William Hague
Our chief political commentator, John Rentoul, highlighted this passage in The Times from former Tory leader William Hague, suggesting that Boris Johnson’s desire to please the audience in front of him “undermines his support rather than guarantees it.”
In his analysis, Mr Hague wrote: “Even if he has to go through the most modest apologies in the Municipal Hall, as he did last Tuesday, he will go upstairs to the 1922 committee of his own deputies and look for a roar of approval for jokes and responses to the attacks of the Archbishop of Canterbury.

David Lamy called sexist allegations against Angela Raynor a “disgrace”
David Lamy called the sexist allegations against his Labor colleague Angela Raynor in the Mail on Sunday a “disgrace”.
The shadow foreign minister told Andrew Marr on LBC: “This is a complete, complete disgrace. This pushes women away from politics, in my opinion they should never make the newspaper in the first place.
“The deputies around him must be identified and found, to be honest. It was awful, absolutely awful, and I felt completely in solidarity with Angela that I found myself in this situation. “
