Bradford, Ont., A man arrested in connection with a strike and flight in North York

A 21-year-old man from Bradford, Ont., Was arrested in connection with a run and run in North York on Wednesday night, in which a 41-year-old man received life-threatening injuries, Toronto police said.

Emergency services responded to a collision in the Toro Road and Keele Street area around 11:15 p.m.

Police say a man was driving north on Keele Street in an electronic bicycle when he was hit by a vehicle moving in the same direction.

The man is in danger of death and was taken to an emergency trauma center.

The driver of the car did not stay on the spot, police said. The car was last seen traveling north on Keele Street.

Police later arrested the 21-year-old man and charged him with the following:

  • Dangerous operation causing bodily harm.
  • Leave the scene with personal injury.

He is due to appear in court on Friday at 10 p.m.

Police say investigators are still searching for the involved vehicle, which is now identified as an older Honda Civic, black in color, with damage to the front bumper, hood and / or windshield.
