Britain is considering sending tanks to Poland to support Ukraine’s battle, says Boris Johnson

Boris Johnson was told that India had abstained on key UN proposals on Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

He was asked why he put pressure on Narendra Modi on the issue, and Mr Johnson said India’s historic position on Russia was “well known … they will not change that, of course, that is true, but they are they can see what is going on and there is a growing appetite to do more with the UK. ”

Mr Johnson was likened to a cat with nine lives above the “party door” and was asked how many of those lives he thought he had left.

He said: “Speaking of cats, we had a pretty good cat kick yesterday, not that I’m about kicking cats to avoid doubt, but we did it all with great respect and what we’re talking about today … is the ways in which the situation, not only in Ukraine but also in the world, obliges the United Kingdom and India to do more together. “
