The video shows Frank James arrested in Manhattan
Suspected terrorist Frank Robert James called for information that led to his own arrest after spending 30 hours on the run after a subway shooting Tuesday, police said.
Mr James reportedly called CrimeStoppers on Wednesday to say he was at McDonald’s in Manhattan, taking police to the East Village, where he was detained without incident around 1:40 p.m.
The 62-year-old man has been charged with one federal charge of terrorism and will appear in court on Thursday.
Mr James is accused of shooting 10 people and leaving at least 19 others injured in a horrific attack on the Brooklyn subway during rush hour on Tuesday.
At 8:24 a.m., the shooter put a gas mask on a full N train traveling to Manhattan from Sunset Park and opened a gas canister. He then opened fire on the train and on the station platform as he entered 36th Street.
A gun, refills, gas cans and fireworks were found at the scene, and New York City police found a U-Haul van allegedly rented by Mr. James.
The motive remains unclear, but disturbing YouTube videos show Mr. James talking about Mayor Eric Adams, gun violence, the subway system and New York’s mental health system.

Suspected terrorist Frank James documents his trip from Milwaukee to New York on YouTube
In a series of recent YouTube videos, Frank James documents his journey from packing his apartment in Milwaukee to renting a U-Haul van in Philadelphia to travel to New York, where he is accused of carrying out the attack on Tuesday.
He talked about how the prospect of returning to Philadelphia’s “danger zone” provoked negative thoughts and that he suffered from “post-traumatic stress.”
Mr James said in a video uploaded on February 23, titled “negrotude”, that his tax refund was more than he expected, and that he had used several thousand dollars to fund his upcoming trip.
He received a “shake” after trying to quit drinking, he said.
On March 21, Mr. James posted a video apparently from Fort Wayne, Indiana. “The Last Judgment is actually here,” he said in the video.
Four days later, Mr. James was seen driving through Philadelphia. Days later, he said he registered with the Best Western in Bordontown, New Jersey.
“Here I am, back, back, back to where all my problems started,” he says.
“The state of fucking stinking New Jersey sitting here in Bordontown for the next few days. And as you saw, the end of my trip, or part of the end of my trip, to Philadelphia, to my warehouse, putting everything away.
Mr James says he is only staying in New Jersey for a few days.
“The damage is too deep. The damage is too deep. And so I think the second phase of what happened on September 11 is about to happen. That’s why Putin is here with a sword. “
In a recent chilling video, Mr James said he had “decided” that “he might have to hurt someone”.
“Because there’s no way I’m going to do what society wants me to do, namely try to be – work hard to play fair, keep my nose to the old grinder, pull on the shoe straps, you know, go to work, pay my taxes, do whatever you want me to do, and then you’ll hit me in the face.

Brooklyn president calls defective cameras “big concern”
Brooklyn President Antonio Reynoso has responded to news that surveillance cameras at the 36th Street station failed to capture footage of Tuesday’s shooting in an interview with ABC News this morning.

The Brooklyn shooter said “oops” after firing a smoke bomb and moments before opening fire, according to a witness.
“We have witnesses on the train who said he was sitting in the back corner of the second car and he dropped the smoke grenade,” NYPD Detective Chief James Essig told a news conference on Wednesday.
“And we have a witness who says, ‘What did he do?’
Mr Esig’s comments support the story given by a survivor who spoke about his meeting with the shooter.
“I looked at him and thought he was talking to himself for a while, so I looked at him and said to myself that this man must be on drugs,” Fitim Geloshi said.
“When [the train] was about to hit 36th Street, we stopped in 5 minutes. He takes a gas mask out of one of his luggage.
“He opened one of his gas tanks and said, ‘Oops, my bad.’ He pulls out an ax, drops it, pulls out a gun, starts firing. ”

The motive remains unclear amid questions about whether the Sunset Park community was specifically targeted
The motive for Tuesday’s terrorist attack remains unclear as questions continue to arise as to whether the Sunset Park community was specifically targeted by the shooter.
Officials said Wednesday that an investigation is still ongoing to determine the motive behind Tuesday’s attack.
NYPD Chief of Staff James Esig said investigators were investigating the social media posts of accused shooter Frank James.
Mr James has posted more than 400 videos on a YouTube channel about mental health services, subways, gun violence and racism.
Meanwhile, questions are being asked as to whether the Sunset Park neighborhood was chosen by the shooter for the attack.
Sunset Park is home to a large community of working class immigrants from Asia and Latin America.
Members of the Asian community in New York have fallen victim to a growing number of hate crimes in the past year, something many attribute to anti-Asian rhetoric imposed by former President Donald Trump during the Covidi-19 pandemic.

Frank James posted a video the day before the mass shooting
Accused shooter Frank James posted a profanity video on his YouTube page Prophet of Truth 88 just a day before the Brooklyn subway attack.
In the video, entitled DOMESTICATED AVERAGES, Mr. James talks about how he identifies with those who have committed acts of extreme violence.
“I went through a lot of nonsense where I could say I wanted to kill people. I wanted to watch people die right in front of my fucking face right away, “he said of the footage, which has already been removed from YouTube.
“But I thought about the fact that, hey, man, I don’t want to go to any fucking prison.”
