Canada is introducing a bill banning Russian Putin and others from entering the country

Canada has imposed a number of sanctions on Russia, along with other Western allies, since Russia launched what it calls a “special military operation” in Ukraine in February.

Canada cannot ban the entry of sanctioned people without amending the so-called Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA), a ministry spokesman said.

“Once effective, these IRPA amendments will apply to all foreign nationals subject to sanctions by Canada and all accompanying family members,” the statement said.
